As the owner of The Pineapple School, my background support my developmental beliefs, goals, and program. I have 12 years’ experience in child care and hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, an ECE Level 4 Credential, Family Child Care Level 4 Credential and an Illinois Director Level 1 Credential. My love for children and providing the best quality care makes me a life-long learner to continue my education! I’m also a mother of 3 grown children and 2 younger children.

My name is Alexia Pledge and I’ve been in child care for 2 1/2 years. I got into childcare because of my mother, since I was little I’ve watched my mother follow her passion in childcare for years. Overtime, I found myself following my mom footsteps by Loving and caring for children in childcare just like her. I love what I do and want to continue following my own dreams to be a Kids Mental Therapist in childcare. In my free time I like to enjoy playing the game and listening to music.

My name is Awnterra Taylor and I’ve been in childcare since 2012. I got into daycare because of my grandmother, who was a cook at my old daycare I went to growing up, she thought i would make a great fit as an assistant so l went for it and actually really enjoyed it. I got a little more serious about childcare when i had my first child, Tony, he was diagnosed with autism and adhd and I felt the urge to know more and do more as not only his parent but be a teacher for him as well and get him to where he needed to be to thrive in daycare and school. Special education is one of the paths I would love to go into. I absolutely just love everything about it and childcare in general and hope to open my own center one day!!! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my favorite show Greys Anatomy after a long day.
